En 1977, a partir de su número 33, Boogie se convirtió en un personaje indispensable y literalmente se adueñó de la última página hasta pasados los mil números de la publicación, cuando Fontanarrosa dejó de realizar la tira, en 1996. Fontanarrosa fue dibujante, guionista, historietista, escritor de ficción y cuentos cortos. Fue uno de los artistas y humoristas más destacados del noveno arte en su país.
